Who qualifies for an Individual Funeral Plan?
Anyone aged 18 years and older can apply for an Individual Funeral Plan. These plans are designed for single policyholders who want affordable funeral cover for themselves only. For clients aged 85 and older, cover is underwritten by Old Mutual.
Can I upgrade my cover later?
Yes, you can upgrade your cover at any time, depending on your age and the cover limits available. Simply contact your TFI Broker or reach out on WhatsApp to make changes — it’s quick and easy.
How soon does the policy become active?
Your cover starts as soon as your first premium payment is received. Please note that a 6-month waiting period applies for natural causes, while accidental death is covered immediately.
What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment, your policy may be suspended until payments are brought up to date. A grace period may apply, but if payments remain unpaid for too long, the policy could lapse. Contact your Broker promptly to prevent this.
Can I cover additional family members under this plan?
No — this plan is designed to cover only the main member. If you want to cover a spouse, children, or extended family, please look at our Family and Extended Family Plans.
